What is Ishtara body?
Ishtara is a type of somatic movement meditation that allows you to listen, understand, and speak your unique body’s language.
Created by Tracy Howard, Ishtara is about moving the things we’re experiencing in our lives through our bodies. Once you understand the pure wisdom of your body and all that she tells you, you open a direct channel to your true desires.
This style of dance allows you to:
Release emotions and reveal your heart
Experience and navigate the highs and lows of life
Meet yourself with curiosity and unconditional love
Learn where your patterns truly originate
Experience radical transformation
Learning the language of our defenses and protections gives Ishtara students a way to meet themselves with pure love. It’s real and raw, and by diving into the depths, we’re able to build an unshakeable foundation from the ground floor.
Ishtara begins with Body Alchemy, then moves into Body Trinity. Both of these courses include:
Level 1 and 2 curriculum decks
12 live virtual classes, held weekly
Guidebooks and at-home practices
Movement practice in class
Individual coaching
Music curated and attuned to your unique body
Personalized body story reading
These courses are limited to 6 women, and all of our work is done in a loving and supportive environment. Together, we’ll create a safe container for you to express yourself and learn.
My Experience with Ishtara
As a deep lover of music, a dancer, a musician, and a professional singer, I’ve been expressing myself through song all throughout my life. It wasn’t until I discovered Ishtara that I realized all of these things could come together in such a healing, expansive way.
I found Ishtara midway through 2020, after a long infertility journey and the birth of my son.
Between the exciting journey of becoming a mother and the raw pain of deep personal losses, my soul was expanding in new ways. I felt like I needed a safe space to express and process everything I’d been through. I was trying to figure out how to dance alongside both the endless possibilities and the heaviness.
Ishtara was the lighthouse that I needed to return home to myself. With the tools I have now, and through witnessing and being witnessed, I’ve been able to navigate the experiences of my life both pre and post-embodiment.
I’ve been practicing Ishtara for four years and am now a licensed teacher, which allows me to be that beacon for women ready to dive into this kind of work.
I’m honored to help women remember their light and joy. I’ll meet you in the trenches so that you don’t have to rise alone.
And rise you will—stronger than ever before.
